Mikey Finnegan, a 17-year-old tough kid from Philly with a chip on his shoulders, dreams of becoming a pro gamer yet faces a harsh life with a hardworking mom and a disabled, catatonic dad. On Christmas Eve, a thug invades their home, and Mikey sustains a head injury, falling into a coma. In a Wizard of Oz-like twist, he travels back to Bethlehem at Jesus' birth. Guided by Rafael, his guardian angel, Mikey must reach the stable to gaze into the eyes of baby Jesus to return home. Along his journey, he battles enemies, saves and falls for a beautiful girl, Celestina, and discovers his inner strength. Everyone on his adventure bears a striking resemblance to people from his South Philly life.
